Heating & air conditioning – GNS Reisemobiltechnik

Air conditioning – a cool head even at the height of summer

When the thermometer climbs past 30 °C, air conditioning decides whether you sleep well. We calculate the right cooling capacity for your vehicle size and handle the complete installation. With enough lithium capacity and a generously sized inverter, a modern air conditioner also runs without shore power – even for hours while wild camping.

Diesel heaters – independent warmth, no gas needed

A diesel air heater from Webasto or Eberspächer draws from the vehicle's fuel tank and heats reliably deep into sub-zero temperatures – ideal for winter campers and anyone who wants to save their gas for cooking. Quiet, economical (typically 0.1–0.5 l/h) and controllable via panel or app.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does a motorhome air conditioner run without shore power?

Yes – with enough lithium capacity (from around 200 Ah) and an inverter of about 2,500 W or more, for several hours. We size the complete system accordingly.

How much diesel does a heater use?

Typically 0.1–0.5 litres per hour depending on the setting – a winter night often costs less than one euro of diesel.

Diesel or gas heating – which is better?

Diesel wins on unlimited supply from the vehicle tank; gas runs slightly quieter. We advise based on how you travel.

Can my roof carry an air conditioner?

We check that beforehand: roof load, cut-out and structure. In most cases retrofitting is no problem at all.
